Carlos Herrera is currently a Senior Manager Functional Excellence at Invitrogen (IVGN), a public biotechnology company. Mr. Herrera has been working at Invitrogen since May of 2008 and is responsible for implementing global process improvement in Customer Care organizations.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Herrera served as the Senior Healthcare Marketing and Productivity Consultant at GE Healthcare, which provides medical technologies and services.

Mr. Herrera is an alumnus of U Penn’s Wharton School.

WHO WE ARE:

Launched in February, PROSPECT is an international affairs journal at the University of California, San Diego. Our online journal serves as a forum for intelligent discourse by showcasing works created by UCSD students who wish to broaden their understanding of issues of contemporary and global relevance.

WHY YOU SHOULD SUBMIT:

*Connect and share ideas, experiences, and interests with your peers *Learn about prevalent issues from a unique information source *Better understand how the arts interpret policy *Find out about local events such as art shows and film screenings *Distinguish yourself in future academic and professional pursuits

WHAT WE ACCEPT:

We welcome a variety of submissions, including but not limited to:

academic papers (from previous classes), freelance articles, travelogues, photography, and films. If you believe you have a relevant submission that does not fall into one of the aforementioned categories or would like clarification on any aspect of the following guidelines, please contact us directly to discuss your potential submission. Networking Night!

Networking Nights is an event hosted by COMT 175 students and the Undergraduate Communication Society to connect UCSD alumni that currently work in the business (entertainment, broadcast journalism etc) with UCSD undergraduates. The event will consist of a panel of speakers and end with an open question session along with a meet and greet. Refreshments will be available as well so bring your friends and come on down. All majors welcomed, Refreshment begins at 6:30 pm come as you are, drops ins welcome.

Stock Valuation Workshop!

 

Want to learn more about stock valuations?

The Undergraduate Economics Society and the Undergraduate Investment Society are co-hosting 2 interactive workshops on stock valuation led by UCSD Alumni Lindsay Giedraitis. Lindsay received the Joel Dean Award for Excellence in Management Science in 2007 and works for a San Diego based investment advisory firm.  Come join us to learn more about stock valuation models and gain some hands on experience. Remember to bring your laptops!
