REAL MONEY with a REAL MISSION

The Student Foundation Investments Committee (SFIC) is a group of UC San Diego undergraduate students who come together to invest money from an endowment to give out scholarships to fellow undergraduates at UC San Diego.

The portfolio, which is currently worth about 165K, has historically beat the S&P 500 benchmark and currently it is beating it by about 35%!!!

Since we are the only UC San Diego student organization that manages a real endowment the experience we offer is unmatched and very unique.

We accept students from all majors and years of all levels of knowledge of investing. The basic requirements are as follows:

  1. Your willingness and dedication to learn about investments.
  2. Your participation and presence to our weekly 1 hour meetings.
  3. Your understanding of our greater philanthropic mission to give back to our student peers at UC San Diego through the Student Foundation.

We’ve just recently come out with a new member handbook that describes our strategy, our positions, and what you can expect from us and what we expect from you.  The current positions we have open are as follows:

  1. Senior analysts
  2. Associates
  3. Affiliates

Please contact Jennifer Choi at jjc008@ucsd.edu to get a copy of the handbook and if you are interested in joining today!

Also we hope that you come out to our info night on October 14th at 5:30p.m. in the Alumni Association Conference Room (3rd Floor, Price Center) to learn more about SFIC and our members, while eating pizza!
