Fellowship Description

Located on the San Diego Campus of the University of California’s Extension Division, the Center for Research on the Regional Economy (CRRE) focuses on conducting research and evaluation projects for government, foundations, and the non-profit sector.  We have been actively engaged and worked closely with a number of sectors from Education and Human Services to Workforce Development and Youth.  Previous and current projects include a study on the craft beer and food industry in San Diego, data collection for a community Collective Impact through the Jacobs Center in Southeast San Diego, a needs assessment for wounded warriors, and an analysis of the fastest growing industry clusters in San Diego and around the country.

The research fellow(s) will have the opportunity to learn valuable research skills across multiple industries as well as apply classroom knowledge to real-world settings. The fellow(s) will be responsible for the following: contributing to study design; conducting semi-structured interviews/discussions with experts and key informants; participating in the design and conduct of surveys; reviewing and abstracting published literature and other written materials; reviewing and abstracting relevant data from case files and databases; cleaning and troubleshooting resulting data; coding data elements; analyzing data; writing sections of reports; and creating summary charts and tables for inclusion in reports.

This is an unpaid position for school credit or experience.
