Breaking Into Social Media and Online Political Journalism: Info Session & Internship Opportunity

From Facebook to Twitter, Google+ to LinkedIn, we’ve witnessed the evolution of social media from a personal networking tool into an essential skill in the professional world. But Facebooking with friends is a lot different than building a career in social media. Social media has also become an integral part of journalism, business, and political outreach.

That’s where we come in. Creative Round is a San Diego based full-service agency, specializing in digital marketing campaigns.

Creative Round administers and develops the Independent Voter Network (http://IVN.us). IVN is a non-profit, non-partisan news
site committed to four etiquette guidelines; no personal attacks, no
partisan-based attacks, no self-promotion, and sources must be substantiated.
The site is in ongoing development with the goal of providing a platform for qualified contributors to have instant access to the news cycle.

On Tuesday of Week 2 (April 9), Creative Round and IVN News will present “Breaking into Social Media, Politics, and Journalism,” an
information session. This is an opportunity to learn about the basics of
professional social networking, writing for the news cycle, and how you can get your foot in the door.

You can also come to celebrate Taco Tuesday as we provide a full Taco Bar for attendees!
